Rose Velvet Cupcakes & Eid

En forsinket Eid Mubarik til alle jer der fejrer Eid. Vi har sagt en vemodigt gensyn til Ramadan og efterfølgende har det været en travlt Eid uge. Jeg håber jeres Eid har været fantastisk. Min Eid var også fantastisk hyggeligt med den traditionelle Eid brunch med familien hos mine forældre.  Til sener på dagen have vi planlagt at pakke kurven med te og kager og tage på te picnic. Til formålet havde min søster bagt en lækker svampet banan kage og  jeg disse Rose Velvet cupcakes. Vejret var dog ikke til te picnic, vi tog en tur ud men lod kagerne blive hjemme til aften te. 

Min Rose Velvet cupcakes er lidt "snyde" kager,  idet jeg har brugt en kage mix. Jeg var heldigt at min datter havde købe en Red Velvet kage mix, fordi jeg var lidt i tidsnød og ville heller bruge tid på at pynte. I får opskriften alligevel selv om jeg har brugt en kage mix.  Jeg har tilføjet kage mixet mine egen touch med rose smagen. Den Red Velvet cupcake bage mix jeg har brugt er til 12 cupcake, hvor man tillsætter vand, æg og olie.

A belated Eid Mubarik to you all celebrating. We have said see you soon to Ramadan and the Eid Week has been busy busy. I hope your Eid was a wonderful one. Mine was a wonderful one with the traditionel  family Eid brunch at my parents place. For later we had planned a te picnic. So my sister had baked a yummy banana cake and I had baked these Rose Velvet cupcakes but the weather was not on our side. We did go outing but left our te  and cake basket for evening tea later.

I have to tell I cheated with my Rose Velvet cupcakes. Yes. I have used a cake mix. I was lucky my daughter had bougt one to try because I was in nedd of time and I wanted to use the time to decorate then bake. I will give to recipe anyway. I added my own touch to the cake mix with the rose taste.  I have used a red velvet cupcake bake mix for 12 cupcakes, the intruction on the packet says to add 2 eggs, water and oil.





Rose Velvet Cupcake
1 pakke Red Velvet cupcake bage mix (12 cupcakes) / 1 packett of Red Velvet cupcake mix
0,8 dl olie  /  0,8 dl oil
0,65 dl mælk / 0,65 dl milk
2 spsk rose sirup (rooh afza) / 2 tbs rose sirup (rooh afza)
1 spsk rose vand / 1 tbs rose water
2 æg / 2 eggs






Bland mælk og rose sirup sammen og bland det sammen med resten. Bag cupcake i 170 grader forvarmet ovn ca 15 minutter. Jeg lavede 8 cupcakes men burde nok have lavet 10, fordi fik en stor top på.  Afkøl cupcake og kom en frosting på efter eget valg eller her er der en opskrift på creme cheese frosting. Rose Velvet cupcakene blev rigtig gode, foruden Red Velvet kage smagen, havde de en hint af rose smag og duft. 

Mix milk and the rose sirup together and mix with  rest of the ingredients to make the batter. Bake the cupcakes in 170 Celcius degree preheated oven for 15 minuts. I made 8 cupcakes but should have made 10. Cool them and frost them efter your choise or here is a recipe from creme cheese frosting. The Rose Velvet cupcakes turned out very good, they had the redvelvet taste with a hint of ores taste and fragrance.





Jeg brugte spiseligt guld støv til at stencle mønster. Se guide på linket forneden. Det eneste forskel er at jeg blande guld støv med 2 dråber citron saft, lavede en paste og derfor brugte ikke smør tricket. http://cupcakeluvs.blogspot.dk/2011/05/stenciling-lustre-dust.html 


I used edible gold dust to stencil design. See guide on the link. The only difference is that I mixed some lustre dust with 2 drops og  lemon juice to make a paste and did not use butter or crisco.

EID Cupcake

 I Søndags fejrede vi muslimer Eid-ul-Adha, en af de to store muslimsk helligdage. Eid-ul-Adha ære profeten Ibrahim og markere desuden afslutning på pilgrims- rejsen Hajj til Mekkah. Dagen starter med en særlig bøn i Moske´en og morgen mad/brunch  hos min forældre bageefter for hele familien. Det har været en fast tradition i min familie til begge Eid. I Søndags blev vi lidt forsinket pga af min kager, så vi tyv startet med lidt morgenmad inden vi tog over til min forældre. (Flere billeder af cupcakene, scroll nedad)

Sunday we muslim celebrated Eid-ul-Adha, one of the two big muslim religious holidays also known as festivel of sacrifice. Eid-ul-Adha is celbrated to honour profet Abraham and it marks the end of pilgrimage Hajj to Mecca. The day starts with a special prayer at the mosque and afterwards breakfast/brunch at my parents. This has been our family tradition for many years for both Eids. This day we got late beacause of my cakes, so we started with breaksfast before going over to my parents. Vores morgenmad inden vi tog over til min forældre. Appelsin pandekager med friske jordbær of hvid chokolade sauce og Malai kebab, de mest lækker cremede kylling kebab. (http://cupcakeluvs.blogspot.com/search/label/kabab ) Kebabene var kun "prøvesmagning" og var en del af min bidrag til fælles middag hos mine forældre senere. Vores brunch hos mine forældre bestod af den dels lidt af den traditionelle Eid menu og min mors lækker sprøde allo paratha,  fyldte pandebagte fladbrød. Aftensmaden meget senere var lidt en sammenskud middag.

Our breakfast before going over to my parents. Orange pancake with fresh strawberries and white chocolate sauce and Malai kebab, the most yummy creamy chicken kebab ever (http://cupcakeluvs.blogspot.com/search/label/kabab ). The kebabs were just for tasting my recepie. I had prepared the kebab mixture early to take it with to my parents house for potlock dinner later. For brunch we had our traditoional Eid menue and my mother delicious crispy aloo parathas, filled panbaked flat bread.



Min bidrag til "dessert bordet"  bestod af en lækker chokolade- mandel kage og af disse jordbær-hvid chokolade cupcakes. Opskriften kan du finde her. Jeg har erstattede 50gr mørk chokolade med 100gr hvid chokolade. Mandelmel er erstattet med almindelig mel. Cupcakene er lidt Lindy Smith inspireret og lidt inspireret af "dugen" som ses under dem.
My contribution to the "dessert table"  was a delicious chocolate- almond cake an these strawberry - white chocolate cupcakes. You can find the recepie here. I have omitted 50 gr dark chocolate with 100gr of white chocolate. The almond flour is omittede with flour. The cupcake are inspired from Lindy Smith and from the "table cloth" you can se under them.


 Teknikken jeg har brugt til at dekorer mine cupcake hedder brush embroidery. Man tegner et mønster med glasur og "trækker" i glasuret med en børste for at give den broderet effekt. Bagefter har jeg dustet med guld farve på bladene.
The teknic I have used to decorate my cupcakes is called bruch embroidery.You draw a patteren on your cake/cupcake with an icing and then pul a painting brush through to give the embroidery effect. I love this tecnic. At last I have dusted the leaf with gold lustre dust.
