It has been nice and relaxing to have some time off from recipe writing. I promise I wil return soon with recipes, but let me tell you about my London trip 2 weeks ago. If you have been fallowing my blog, you wil know I have been in London before with my daughter. You will also know that beside sightseeing, one of our favorite thing to do is to try at least 2-3 afternoon teas. This time we choose only to try 1 Afternoon as we wanted to try delicious food from the huge selection of halal restaurants there is in London. Dont worry we did get our tea, coffe and hot chocolate breaks. Scroll down to see some of the place we recommend for hot beverages, tea breakes and cakes. Also scroll down the page to read about our afternoon tea at the Langham.
Maitre Choux : A little pastrie place, where you can enjoy masterpieces of beautiful and delicious eclaires. If you are mulsim, then there are 3 kind of eclaires without alcohol and geletine. We tried "Hazelnut & Milk Chocolate Tressure" and Paris- Brest. Last time we tried "Arabica Coffe" wich is our favorite.
Følgende to anbefalinger er angående varm chokolade/kakao.
Fallowing two recommendations are concerning hot chocolate Nr.1 is "Ube Hot Coco" from Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream. I had seen so many recommendations and photo on instagram that we had to try this coco when wisiting Camden town. I have never tried Ube before and nor do I know how it looks like. Ube is kind of a purple yam and used in desserts. It is diificult to describe its flavour, but it has nutty taste to it. The ube & white chocolate coco was creamy and delicious. The service is pleasent and welcoming,
Nr 2 is a yummy luxery hot chocolate with hazzlenut from Snowflake. We just found the shop when we were walking in Soho.
Pamban Chai and Coffe House: I choose this chai and coffe house because of their beautiful falooda, as it was cold and ofcourse we had to have something hot too. "Chai flight for one" I choose masala chai, karak chai and saffron karak chai. You can translate karak as strong. These teas were not karak, well not enough for mý taste but I liked the saffron infused tea.
Peggy Porchen Palour : who would´nt try a beautiful hot coco and a beautiful cappucino in a equally beautiful decorated and cozy pastel pink palour.
Palm Court, The Langham: Afternoon tea in the beautiful Palm Court at the Langham Hotel was a birthday surprize for me from my loving daughter, mashallah. What delight it was to enjoy the afternoon tea in such a beautifull setting with very attentive and pleasent service.
The halal menue wich my daughter had ordered for os was actually a vegatarian option with a little open faced salmon bite. Cucumber sandwich, delicious cheese sandwich and my favorite the grilled pepper sandwich. The salmon bite was also delicious and then there was the brioche bun with duck egg, the broche bun was delicious and fluffy but the duck egg was not for me, I never had duck egg and I did´nt like the taste. Instead of champaigne we had refreshing apple and lime mocktails.
At the end we were served 4 beautiful and scrumptious pastries. And a deliciuos birthday cupcake with the courtesy of the restaruant. Prior to the pastries we were ofcourse served withfluffybuttery scones, these must be some of the best scones I have tasted.
it looks like you had a wonderful time and your food journey sounds very tasty! thanks for sharing with us all ;)
